We’re still getting oodles and oodles of produce from our CSA and it’s wonderful. We’ve been making awesome new dishes with awesome new produce that we’ve never even tried before. But some nights, you have places to go and play off games to play in (that’s my smooth way of working in the fact that I participated in a play off game, probably the first and last time that will ever happen). So for those nights, it’s back to the tried and true. Continue reading “Oven Roasted Beets and Green Beans”
My Love and I have been incredibly busy the past few weeks. Between looking for wedding/reception venues and trying to get in wedding day shape, we’ve hardly had time to enjoy each others company. So the other night I decided we were going to have a movie night.

I’ve posted a lot about dishes for dinner and dessert and I’ve been totally ignoring my favorite meal of the day: breakfast. Not only is it the most important meal of the day, but I think it’s the tastiest as well. Almost every single day I work eggs into my breakfast, and on my days off I do things a little fancier. I have been completely ignoring this blog for the past week and a half, but it’s been with good reason. On July 20th, Tim asked me to marry him, so I’ve been all kinds of distracted. He took me to Art Hill with wine, fruit and ring in tow, and proposed at sunset. It couldn’t have been better. We’ve known each other for almost two years now and I’m confident we’re ready.

After yoga last week, I headed to Kirkwood Station Brewing Company with my mom and Tim. The restaurant is located in the middle of Downtown Kirkwood, right off Kirkwood Road. The heat wasn’t oppressive (for a change) so we opted for outdoor seating. However indoors is pretty cool as well. They have a huge open room with a bar for bands and other fun stuff (if you check their website they always seem to have neat stuff going on) and a large dining room connected to that.

The heat wave has broken but it’s still hot, so we’re still looking for ways to make food sans heat. We have a lot of produce in the fridge so I wanted to make something with some of the fruit tonight. So chocolate covered strawberries it was!
